Is your team prepared to walk out of the next high stakes meeting with the desired outcome?

Your project can fail not because you don't have a plan, but because of the room. The Connect Method™ changes that.

Business Team Meeting

The Children . . .

Some rooms tell you everything before anyone says a word. I once walked into a packed public hearing with standing room only, where a couple had brought their school-aged kids to a zoning meeting hoping to appeal to the elected officials that my application would do real harm.  The air was thick with fear, distrust, and anger aimed directly at me. The commission I thought was ready to vote yes was visibly rattled. That night taught me something I've carried for nearly three decades: the most important skill in a high-stakes room isn't your argument. It's your ability to see what's actually happening and respond to it honestly.

The Neighbors . . .

Not every room is hostile from a distance. Sometimes it's personal. At a required community meeting held at a local library, the kind that happens before the formal hearing when tensions are still raw and nothing is decided, people walked in with tears in their eyes. Aimed right at us. A few voices were already leading the room toward something that felt less like a meeting and more like a rally.

We made a decision on the spot. We broke the room into small groups and divided our team among them, deliberately separating the loudest voices from the crowd they were pulling along. What happened over the next two hours was simple but hard to manufacture: people felt heard. One on one, or close to it, the fear had somewhere to go. The questions got answered. The anger had less oxygen. Not everyone walked out satisfied. That was never the goal. But the mass protest that almost happened didn't. The project was later approved.
